St Mary’s Church Manchester October 2024

We are always very excited when the opportunity presents itself to rebuild an older electronic organ, whether it by one of our own, or from another builder. It’s even more interesting when we can add additional stops and facilities on the organists’ wish list which were not on the original instrument. Fortunately, our Physis technology is perfect for just such circumstances.

It was back in October 2023 when we received and email from Nathan Jowett, organist at St. Mary’s, Mulberry Street, Manchester. Their organ was a 3-manual analogue Makin from the early 1990’s which had ‘died’ earlier in the year. They were using a loan instrument as a temporary measure and contacted us to see what we could offer in terms of a new custom-built instrument or a rebuild of their existing Makin console.

After a thorough site visit and meeting with Nathan and Fr. Anthony it was decided the best option would be to rebuild the Makin. You can read more about the organ at St Mary’s in Manchester.
